We believe that Momentum is able to attract and retain talented staff in part due to the quality of life that Portland offers. Because of this, we make it a priority to engage in activities that contribute to building a stronger community. We do this by:
- Generating excellent job opportunities
- Enabling our employees to participate in community events and initiatives
- Maintaining a Community Involvement Committee charged with identifying and coordinating opportunities for MMI staff to be engaged in the community
- Provide company-sponsored funding allotted specifically for community involvement activities
We have participated in the following activities:
- Oregon Food Bank - Waterfront Blues Festival Food Drive
- Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
- Habitat for Humanity - 2007 Build Week
- Oregon Humane Society
In addition, MMI leverages our relationship with Richard Meeker, Publisher of the Willamette Week and MMI board member, to play a major role in an annual community fund raiser – Willamette Week Give!Guide. We work with Richard to assemble a group of nonprofits to showcase their strengths and raise much-needed funds. As part of this effort, MMI sponsors the Skidmore Prize aimed to encourage and recognize young people for non-profit work.
